Description
Rose Spring points (also called Rose Springs Stemmed or part of the Rosegate Cluster) are diagnostic Late Prehistoric arrow points found throughout the Great Basin and into the northern Colorado Plateau. They mark the transition from atlatl dart technology to bow-and-arrow hunting.
Shape: Small, narrow, triangular; corner-notched or stemmed variants. Cross-section: Flattened to narrow elliptical. Blade: Thin; excurvate to straight. Shoulders: Barbed to horizontal. Stem: Slightly expanding or straight. Base: Straight to convex. Flaking: Random flaking pattern.
