Description
This is a thin small triangular expanding stem point with an elliptical to flattened cross section. The blade is recurvate, with the tip having a slight curve and the shoulder having an exaggerated flaring. Many examples have a shoulder edge of the blade becoming horizontal or curving back up towards the tip. The shoulders are prominent and at an upward angle or rounded from the stem to the shoulders edge. The shoulders are often referred to as “spurred”. The stem may range from slightly expanding to expanding with a straight to concave base in the classic form, but the stem may vary to a contracting stem with a convex base. This point is commonly well made and has a random flaking pattern.
