Certified Archaic Thebes Artifact. Early Archaic period point dating around 7,500 years B.C. based on C-14 dates secured at Graham Cave. At Graham Cave the Thebes was found at the same level as a St. Charles point. Theves are most common in the Midwest and especially so in Indiana.
Some minor crushing on the tip as noted on cert. 2 COAs (included). 1st cert signed by Jerry T. Dickey certificate #11-0493 issued 06-09-11. 2nd cert determined to be an authentic ancient artifact by Bennett’s Artifact Authentication, signed by James R. Bennett, cert #09A7AF57 date issued 01-20-25

These points are commonly found in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and into eastern Iowa. This point is found with less frequency into Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and the upper Ohio River valley. This point is rarely found into Ontario limited to terraces and beach ridges
