Description

Description: Over 6 inches Check the book for G-10 point
A medium to large size, broad, thin, elliptical, corner notched point with a dovetail base. First stage forms are not beveled. Beveling on opposite sides of each face occurs during the resharpening process. The base is convex and examples exhibit high quality flaking. There is a rare variant that has the barbs clipped (clipped wing) as in the Decatur type. There are many variations on base style from bifurcated to eared, rounded or squared. Base size varies from small to very large. Comptemporary with the Hardin and Decatur points. Formally called Plevna which were the resharpened (beveled) forms. It was previously reported in error that the unbeveled forms were from the late Archaic when actually all are the same type from the early Archaic period.
