Description
5.2″ long on the dorsal curve Super Cool Over 5″ inch Raptor Claw
(**Item originally listed with Paleo Direct. Copy of listing will be included with piece**)
Killing claw of a Raptor foot. Found in 2000. Over five inches. Specimen has restoration to the last 1.25″ of the tip. Part was missing when the claw was found, and likely damaged from use when the animal was still alive. The rest of the claw was found intact and is solid with no fractures, repair or restoration. Entire surface is dense, with excellent surface detail. The golden patina color is natural and caused by minerals in the soil.
Origin: Kem Kem Fossil Beds (former Tegana Formation), North Sahara, South Moracco
LATE CRETACEOUS PERIOD: 66 million years ago
