Giant Beaver Mandible  Castoroides ohioensis Pleistocene, Citrus Co. FL wpe1.jpg (1118 bytes)
10" long  $2650 order f704
COMMENTS:  very small amount of restoration, some teeth composite, very solid bone, from Lake Rousseau on the Withlacoochee River.  This is one of the rarest and most sought after of the Ice Age fossils.  The giant beaver is legendary in the mythology of several American Indian tribes.  Complete mandibles are very rarely offered.  Very well presented on a rustic slab of red oak from our Santa Fe property, with solid brass mounts.  This is a great investment opportunity.

Columbian Mammoth molar Mammuthus columbi wpe1.jpg (1118 bytes)
Pleistocene, Columbia Co. FL
11 1/2" tall (tooth itself off stand) $595 order e468
COMMENTS: found in two pieces, glued together, no restoration, perfect and huge, attention getter, displays very well, mounted on magnolia stand with brass mounts.  This is an exceptionally attractive tooth, worthy of any collection or museum.

Rhinoceros Mandible  Menoceras barbouri early Miocene  Dixie Co. FL
13" $2,150 order mi821
COMMENTS:  one of the rarest rhinos in Florida.  Not rare out west, but the jaws are usually in a thousand pieces or lying shattered in matrix.

TAPIR
Tapirus veroensis
Pleistocene, Citrus Co. FL

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Following are two incredible  articulated leg sets of Parahippus leonensis, Late Early Miocene, Dixie Co., FL, appx. 20 million years old.  Both are composites but are carefully matched from the same site. Both have restoration on the splint bones.  These tiny bones are so extremely thin and fragile, I have never seen an unbroken one, just the proximal and distal portions.  None of the side hooves nor the phalanges has any restoration, and where mentioned, only a small amount on the center hoof.  These are extremely rare specimens, not likely available elsewhere.  All are mounted on attractive hardwood bases with brass rod.

Measures 7 1/4" high  without stand.  Small amount of restoration on cannon bone, also splint bones, a tiny bit on center hoof, none on other  hooves or phalanges.  Mounted on African padauk base.  $600  order mi754

Measures 8 7/8" high  without stand.  Small amount of restoration on cannon bone, also splint bones, none on hooves or other phalanges.  Mounted on Pennsylvania spalted maple base.  $600  order mi757

Articulated camelid leg  Nothokemus floridanus or Floridatragulus dolichanthereus.  Some restoration on  the cannon bone halves only, no other restoration.  Composite but bones match and all from same site.  Extremely rare twenty million year old camelid, not likely found anywhere else. Measures about 10" high without stand.  Mounted on oak burl base from my back yard. $600 order mi759
