COMMENTS: barb restored, the entire shank is original, including the
fabulous knob, one of the best developed you will see. An intact hook
almost identical to this one sold last spring for $900. Expertly restored
and looks great in the case. This hook and the one below (r62) came from
near the site of the composite fishing lures, described in the
Central States Archaeological Journal, Vol. 56, Num. 3, July 2009, pp.
132-136.

Hardin Early Archaic somewhere in the Midwest?

COMMENTS: one ear, one or both corners of base restored, very unusual,
highly stylized Hardin,
very skillfully crafted. This point (unrestored) was purchased from the
wife of Ralph Burnsworth. His collection came from a wide area so this
point could be from anywhere, but likely from Missouri, Illinois, or Ohio..
