Savannah River Late Archaic GeorgiaSOLDO
3 7/8" ag32
COMMENTS: from the Gordon Site, large, classic unusual stone, extremely
well made.

Clay Late Archaic Hamilton Co. FL
3 5/16" $350 order a4737
COMMENTS: glossy, heat treated purple stone. Found by J. Scott near
White Springs.

Bascom, Late Archaic Marion Co. FL
5 1/8" $450 order d111
COMMENTS: found in two pieces, this is
an exquisitely worked blade with perfect symmetry. Found near Rainbow
Springs near Inverness together with d110. This blade type is sometimes called a
Morrow Mountain, but Schroder makes a distinction and gives a good description
and explanation (pp. 94-96)

Late Archaic Stemmed Point Late Archaic Pasco Co. FL
2 5/8" $20 order a4661
COMMENTS: this could be a Middle Archaic Putnam, but Schroder names these
a Late Archaic Stemmed, for lack of a better name. These are quite common
and are usually simply called a Putnam or a Marion. I believe the best
determining characteristic (other than their association with fiber-tempered
ceramics) is the pointed, diminishing base of the stem. If not found with
fiber-tempered ceramics, they could hardly be distinguished form the Middle
Archaic types.

Lafayette Late Archaic Marion Co. FL
2 1/4" $45 order a4674
COMMENTS: has a slight bow, pretty good symmetry.

Late Archaic Stemmed Point Late Archaic Pasco Co. FL
2 5/8" $50 order a4641
COMMENTS: this could be a Middle Archaic Putnam, but Schroder names these
a Late Archaic Stemmed, for lack of a better name.

Savannah River Archaic - late Archaic Hillsborough Co. FL
3 1/2" $40 order a4652
COMMENTS: not sure of the type, large blade, somewhat translucent.

South Prong Creek Late Archaic Hamilton Co. FL
4" $595 order a4622
COMMENTS: Classic South Prong Creek (see Powell, p.33). A relatively
rare point type in Florida, with serrations beginning at shoulder but
terminating short of the tip. These serrations are outstanding and very
well developed. May be made of coral or stromatolite, not sure yet.
Ex Jerry Hyde.

Savannah River Late Archaic Suwannee Co. FL
2 1/4" $40 order a4628
COMMENTS: no flaws, many sharpenings, great color and patina.

Culbreath Late Archaic-Early Woodland Hernando Co. FL
1 3/4" $75 order a4223
COMMENTS: pink and white translucent pinhead swirl coral, nice droopy ears.
