Fluted Simpson Paleo Polk Co. FL
$2750 order a4896
COMMENTS: Beautiful little Simpson, beautiful color, translucent, small
little waist, nice ears, no damage, nice glossy patina. Found in the
phosphate mines by a shark tooth hunter. This is an exquisite little paleo
which would add to any Paleo collection. It took some trading, finagling
and waiting to get this one.

Hardaway Transitional North Florida
1 5/8" $125 order a4524
COMMENTS: pronounced thinning flutes both sides, base similar to the Van
Lott, base smoothed, perfect symmetry, a rare point in Florida and this is one
is well made.

Suwannee Paleo Central Florida
3 58" $1500 order h17
COMMENTS: beautiful ears, base perfect, classic Suwannee, thin, one can
see exactly where it was hafted by the slight break which resulted from at least
one resharpening, basal grinding, thin, careful edgework, well developed ears.
A very fine Suwannee.

Dalton Transitional Paleo Madison Co. FL
2 1/4" $750 order a4627
COMMENTS: thin, very well made, great symmetry, bifacially resharpened,
heavily ground base, classic Dalton form

Paleo Florida Panhandle
2 1/4" $125 order a4525
COMMENTS: well finished early point.

Bull Tongue Simpson Paleo Suwannee Co. FL
2 5/8" $750 order a2423
COMMENTS: not the best, but a Bull Tongue. Large Paleo percussion
flaking, translucent stone.

SUWANNEE-UNION
Paleo North Florida near the Suwannee River
3" $225 order a1666
COMMENTS: interesting Paleo with both Suwannee and Union
characteristics. Referring to this point, Mr. Claude Van Order had the
following to say: "Excellent item for a Paleo study collection due to
the extensive use evidence which shows very heavy wear all along blade edges,
extreme torquing\twisting action which resulted in the dislodging of the
flake near the tip, as well as extensive rubbing, smoothing and polishing
over most of the entire surface"¹. Fine edgework, carefully made, and thin.
The torque flake is ancient but there appears to be a tiny, more recent
chip off one ear. This is a Paleo with lots of charisma and character
which
was likely in use for many years.
¹Stated September first, 2003 at his home in Lakeland.
