MIOCENE HORSES 1

five pounds, the larger Parahippus leonensis, at
around 160 pounds (Hulbert, The Fossil Vertebrates of Florida, pp284-5),
and the larger still Anchitherium clerencei, extremely rare and known
from only a few sites.
